Information We Collect
When you interact with our services, we gather different types of information. Some you provide directly, others we collect automatically as you use our platform.
Information You Provide
- Name, email address, and phone number when you register or contact us
- Company details if you're enrolling through an organization
- Payment information for course enrollment (processed through secure third-party providers)
- Learning preferences and technical skill assessments
- Messages you send through our contact forms or support channels
- Course progress, assignment submissions, and participation in discussions
Automatically Collected Data
Our systems log technical information to keep things running smoothly and improve your experience:
- IP address and general location data (city/state level)
- Browser type, device information, and operating system
- Pages you visit, time spent on each section, and navigation patterns
- Course completion rates and assessment scores
- Referral sources and search terms used to find us
How We Use Your Information
We're not in the business of selling data. Here's what we actually do with what we collect:
| Purpose | What This Means |
|---|---|
| Service Delivery | Providing access to courses, tracking progress, issuing certificates |
| Communication | Sending course updates, responding to questions, administrative notices |
| Improvement | Analyzing usage patterns to enhance course content and platform functionality |
| Security | Detecting fraud, preventing unauthorized access, maintaining system integrity |
| Legal Compliance | Meeting regulatory requirements and responding to lawful requests |
We occasionally send educational content and program updates. You can opt out of these messages anytime—just click the unsubscribe link or adjust your preferences in your account settings.
Sharing and Disclosure
We keep your data within our organization except in specific situations. Here's when information might be shared:
Service Providers: We work with companies that help us run our platform—payment processors, hosting services, email delivery systems. They only get access to data necessary for their specific function and are contractually required to protect it.
Business Partners: If your employer sponsors your enrollment, we share progress reports as outlined in your agreement. You'll know upfront if this applies to you.
Legal Requirements: We'll disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request. We'll notify you when possible unless legally prohibited.
Business Transitions: If Kryxo Pwidu is acquired or merged with another company, your information would transfer to the new entity. You'd be notified before this happens.
We don't sell your personal information to third parties. Period. We don't participate in data broker arrangements or advertising networks that track you across the web.
Data Storage and Security
Your information lives on secure servers in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Our team follows strict access controls—only authorized personnel can view sensitive information, and all access is logged.
That said, no system is perfectly secure. We do our best to protect your data, but can't guarantee absolute security. Use strong passwords, don't share your login credentials, and let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Retention Periods
We keep different types of data for different lengths of time:
- Account information: As long as your account is active, plus seven years after closure for record-keeping
- Course completion records: Indefinitely, as these serve as your permanent educational transcript
- Payment records: Seven years for tax and accounting purposes
- Support communications: Three years from last contact
- Technical logs: 18 months unless needed for security investigations
Your Rights and Choices
You have control over your information. Here's what you can do:
Access and Correction
Log into your account dashboard to view and update most personal information. If you can't find something or need help, contact us at [email protected]. We'll respond within 10 business days.
Data Portability
Request a copy of your data in a common format (typically CSV or PDF). This includes your course history, assessment scores, and profile information. Allow up to 30 days for us to compile comprehensive records.
Deletion Requests
You can request deletion of your account and associated data. Keep in mind we're required to retain certain records for legal and educational accreditation purposes—specifically course completion certificates and transcripts. We'll explain what can and can't be deleted when you make your request.
Important: Deleting your account removes access to course materials and your learning history. Download any certificates or materials you want to keep before requesting deletion.
Marketing Preferences
Opt out of promotional emails through the link in any marketing message or through your account settings. You'll still receive transactional emails—enrollment confirmations, password resets, important policy updates—as these are necessary for the service.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies. Most are essential for the platform to work—they remember you're logged in, save your preferences, and keep your session secure.
We also use analytics cookies to understand how people use our site. This helps us figure out which courses are most popular, where people get stuck in the enrollment process, and what features to build next. These analytics are aggregated—we look at patterns, not individual behavior.
Your browser lets you control cookies. Blocking essential cookies will break functionality, but you can typically disable analytics cookies without major issues. Check your browser's help section for instructions.
Third-Party Links and Services
Our courses sometimes link to external resources—documentation sites, tool downloads, reference materials. Once you click through to another site, this privacy policy no longer applies. We try to link only to reputable sources, but can't control their privacy practices.
Similarly, if you found us through a partner organization or referral program, their privacy policy governed that interaction until you reached our site.
Children's Privacy
Our programs target working professionals and adult learners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
For any educational programs designed for younger audiences (which we may offer in the future), we'd obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting information from minors.
California Residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights. You can request details about what personal information we've collected over the past 12 months, including categories of sources and third parties we've shared it with.
California residents can also request deletion of personal information (subject to legal exceptions) and opt out of any "sale" of personal information. As mentioned earlier, we don't sell personal data, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front.
We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights—no denial of service, different pricing, or reduced functionality.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy occasionally as our services evolve or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows when it was last modified. Major changes trigger an email notification to active users. Continued use of our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
We archive previous versions of this policy. If you want to see what changed, just ask.
