Spent eight years managing digital infrastructure for mid-sized companies before transitioning to teaching. What I appreciate most about this work is watching people discover they can actually master complex systems—it just takes the right sequence of learning.

My background in database administration taught me that good digital systems aren't about fancy tools—they're about understanding information flow. I focus on teaching students to think systematically rather than memorizing software features.

Who This Program Serves

We designed this for people already working in administrative roles who want to expand their technical capabilities, or for those transitioning from related fields. The autumn 2025 cohort begins September 15, with evening sessions twice weekly to accommodate working schedules. Previous students have included office managers, executive assistants, and operations coordinators looking to modernize their skill sets.

How We Structure Learning

Project-Based Progression

Each month centers on a specific administrative challenge—filing system redesign, meeting workflow optimization, vendor data organization. You complete actual deliverables rather than theoretical exercises, building a portfolio that demonstrates capability.

Incremental Skill Building

We start with foundational concepts about information architecture before introducing specific tools. This means you understand the reasoning behind different approaches, not just button sequences. When software updates or changes, you'll adapt easily because you grasp underlying principles.

Collaborative Problem Solving

Small cohorts allow for peer review sessions where you examine each other's systems and suggest improvements. Some of the best learning happens when you explain your approach to someone else or troubleshoot their implementation alongside them.

Real Workplace Context

Projects mirror actual business situations—incomplete data sets, changing requirements, budget constraints. You'll encounter the same complications you'd face in employment and develop strategies for working through them systematically.
